1. Description of Tournament/Participation.
A. Dates of Tournament: Registration for the online ladder portion of this Tournament will begin on July 1, 2012 at 9:00PM EST and end on September 30, 2012, at 9:00PM EST. The online ladder portion of this Tournament will begin on July 1, 2012 at 9:00PM EST and end on September 30, 2012 at 9:00PM EST. The bracket online portion of this Tournament will begin shortly after completion of the online ladder portion of the Tournament. Participants must first register for the online ladder portion of this Tournament in order to be eligible to qualify for the bracket online portion of this Tournament.
B. How to Enter: You must be an active and registered member of MLG’s network of sites (the “MLG Site”) to enter. You may register for the Tournament by visiting the MLG Site and completing the free on-line registration form at https://accounts.majorleaguegaming.com/account/new. Please provide a valid e-mail address, as e-mail will be the primary method of contact. Tournament registration is on a first come first serve basis and is open until all applicable Tournament spots are filled. To participate, you must join a team of at least four members and designate a leader of the Team. Participants are limited to one entry per person per Tournament. Valid Tournament entries must contain all information requested. Incomplete and/or multiple entries will be disqualified. All entries become the property of MLG and will not be acknowledged or returned. MLG is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, or misdirected entries. MLG, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any person who tampers with the entry process or who otherwise violates these Official Rules.
C. How to Play: The online ladder portion of the Tournament will be an open challenge system and participants are required to schedule their own games. After September 1, 2012, 9:00PM EST, existing teams in the Tournament will have their team rosters locked, and players will not be able to switch teams. The top 128 teams from the ladder will be seeded into a double elimination bracketed online tournament; provided, however, MLG reserves the right to modify the number of teams that qualify for the bracketed online tournament based upon the level of participation in the online ladder portion of the Tournament. All bracket matches will be automatically scheduled for participants for each specific round. All Tournament games must be played under the rules set forth for each individual Tournament.
. Prize(s).
The first place winner will receive $1,400. The second place winner will receive $500. The third place winner will receive $300. The fourth place winner will receive $200. The fifth place winner will receive $100. The leader of each winning team will designate 3 other players from the team, and such four team members will be awarded an equal share of the prize set forth herein.
The prize(s) that may be awarded to the eligible winner(s) is limit one prize package per household.
Prizes are non-transferable and not exchangeable for any other prize. In the case of unavailability of prize, MLG reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to substitute a prize of equal or greater value. All taxes, gratuities and unspecified expenses are the sole responsibility of winner. Winner assumes all liability for use of the prize.
Winners will be notified by e-mail and/or private message on the MLG Site within approximately seven (7) days after the end of the Tournament. Winners will be required to follow the instructions in such email and/or private message by submitting a ticket within seven (7) days of this first notification. After submission of the ticket, MLG will e-mail to the winner an Affidavit of Eligibility, a liability/publicity release, a parental consent form and tax forms. The winner will be required to sign and return to MLG such documents, as applicable, within seven (7) days of MLG’s e-mail, which contained such documents. If winner cannot be contacted within seven (7) days of any notification attempt, if any prize or prize notification is returned as undeliverable, if winner rejects his/her prize or in the event of noncompliance with these Official Rules and requirements, such prize will be forfeited and may be awarded to an alternate, in MLG’s sole discretion.
3. Eligibility and Limitations.
All participants must be legal residents of the United States and at least 13 years old as of date of entry. Children under 13 are not eligible to win prizes. If requested by MLG, winners must provide a copy of his/her government issued photo ID with proof of age. A parent or guardian of any participant who is a minor in his/her jurisdiction (under 18 years old, except in Alabama and Nebraska where a minor is under 19 years old) at the time of entry must sign a release on behalf of the minor to be eligible to receive a prize. If a minor wins a prize, the prize will be awarded to the parent or legal guardian who signs the release. Minors who do not have a signed release will not be permitted to play. Prizing is limited to only one (1) prize per household per Tournament. Employees of MLG, BIC USA Inc. (“BIC”), and their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, parents, representatives, advertising, promotion and publicity agencies (collectively, the “MLG and BIC Entities”), and the immediate family members and persons living in the same household of each are not eligible to participate and win. This Tournament is void where prohibited by law.
